Here is a quick cheat sheet for product recommendations. These are things that we own and use and have worked well for us.
Food:
GRAIN FREE dry food: Evo
CANNED FOOD: Wellness brand. Our spoiled kitties do not seem to like the more exotic seafood flavors, nor beef. They enjoy chicken, chicken/salmon, lobster/chicken, turkey.
RAW FOOD: Nature's Variety Chicken/Turkey or Beef, Blue Ridge Beef
Water Fountains:
Drinkwell.
Cat Litter:
Fresh Step clay litter (unscented)
Litterboxes:
Any plastic container with high sides makes a good litterbox. We also use extra long jumbo covered litterboxes.
Grooming tools:
We do not recommend using a brush for grooming. A Greyhound comb gets down to the skin and removes dead hair. There are nail clippers that look like little scissors that work well, and you can even use human ones, carefully.
Scratching posts:
We have a variety of scratching posts from several manufacturers. If you want a basic, well built scratching post, BJ marketers delivers to your door. We have one of their trees in our bedroom, and another in our dining room.

We have a "coffee table cat tree" in our boys room made by these folks, and a "kitten tree" with many little seats and a variety of textures to scratch, in our kitten room and another in front of our sliding glass doors in the back room.
For a rustic look of tree branches complete with bark and carpeted shelves, Furwood Forest in GA has some lovely things. We feature one of Steve's trees in our living room and it is one of the cats favorite spots. Visit their site at:
If you want some thing unusual that will draw comments and smiles from visitors, Great Lakes Pet Furniture makes charming trees in the shape of flowers and spiders in a variety of colors and sizes. We have a darling little sunflower tree in our kitten room.
