SaraJen Cary of DamnYnke

Cary-Cat is a silver patched tabby/white born 6/3/06.

Cary is pictured at 4 months, 1 year and almost 3 years of age.  Free spirited and independent, she enjoys "helping" with various activities around the house.  She is a wonderful mother with no- nonsense parenting skills and she is happy to lend a helping paw to other moms if their kids get unruly. Cary gets her name from the town of Cary, NC - also known as a "Contained Area of Relocated Yankees".  Notable show offspring include GC Damnynke CoonanObryn of Panther Hill and GC Damnynke My Name is Earl.

"Nina" is a lovely black smoke with white female who honestly has one of the prettiest profiles we've ever seen.  She's outgoing, flirty and very, very pretty.  Nina has the "begging" gene and begs at all kinds of things - chandeliers, ceiling fans, and especially for a can of Fancy Feast, which is a special junk food treat around here.  Nina's type more closely meshes with the TICA look.  She's pictured with Skyy, now 8 years old, who is more of the CFA look.  Nina comes to us from SaraJen Maine Coons in Alexandria, VA and quells my desire to always have a black smoke in our program.  Nina's first litter was nothing short of a miracle and included seven beautiful, healthy babies.  Two have stayed with us to enhance our breeding program.  "Spot" and "Pixie" are pictured below.  Nina's 2nd litter, also 7 kittens, are wonderful, too.

Grand Champion DamnYnke My Name is Earl

Earl is a blue classic tabby with white born 4/26/08.  Pictures below are at 6 months and 7 months of age,  Earl earned his Grand Champion title in CFA and was retired from the show hall.  Although he was quite a ham in the rings, he had progressively worsening car sickness and we're certain he'd choose not to get in a car again without a darn good reason.   He is the first Blue that we've ever granded, and the third generation Grand of our breeding.  We are very proud of him!   His mom is Cary (above)  and his dad is GC Damnynke William the Carpetbagger, aka Willie.  Earl has inherited the "begging" gene.  If you would like to see what this means, click here:.  We are trying to figure out how to get him to do it on command.  But, Earl is a cat and as such he is full of surprises.  To see Earl being judged as a 4 month old kitten in September 2008, click here.  Earl has his own page on our website.  To see even more photos of his big blue self, click here.

Youngsters

Champion Damnynke Pixie Dust

@ 16 weeks

Pixie at 8 months of age.

Pixie is the only female from a litter of seven, born to Nina on May 13th, 2009.  She's cute as a bug and prissy, like her mom. She enjoys splashing in the water fountains and makes quite a mess.  We are growing her out for our breeding program.

Grand Champion Damnynke Spot On

Above - Spot at 16 weeks

.

Spot at 8 months of age

"Spot" is an enormous silver tabby and white boy, littermate to Pixie.  Spot got his name because of the large silver spot on his right front leg - it was the only way we could tell him apart from one of his brothers when they were really young.  He's grown so quickly that he  seems to not have a good awareness of where his body parts are.  He's like having a puppy in many ways- including the splashing in the water fountains.  He is the most water obsessed cat we've ever seen, which is really saying something.  He's often found in the kitchen sink splashing in any water we've dared left around .  We have had to adapt our Drinkwell cat water fountains so that he can't empty them out.... He's a wonderful example of the breed (look at that square muzzle!) and a lot of fun to travel with and show.

Below are some thumbnails of photos of Spot taken by Chanan at the Crab and Mallet show March 14th & 15th.  Click on the thumbnail to see a larger photo.

Spot is a cat obsessed with water to the degree to rival Labrador Retrievers as a breed.  We have never ever met a cat so focused on sinks, bathtubs and  water fountains.   Spot can generally be found lounging in our kitchen sink (because we've closed all the doors where he could get to the bathtubs and modified our cat fountains so that he can't empty them out any more) and no amount of scolding, removing, cajoling, or anything else we can think of can deter him.  I usually end up having to leave a tray upside down covering the sink so that he doesn't soak himself.  Spot generally sounds like a wet mop when he's plopped down to the floor.  It was extremely challenging to keep him in show coat and indulge his obsession.

Introducing:

Nascat Diamond Lil of Damnynke

"Lilly" is a beautiful brown mackerel tabby (the other pattern) with white female, born February 26, 2010,  from our friend Donna in Texas.  She has lovely pattern and warm tones to her coat, an outstanding profile, large expressive eyes and an extremely outgoing and assertive personality.  We look forward to showing her and having her in our breeding program.
